29/06/2010 OZGUR AYDIN AT FESTIVALS ON THREE CONTINENTS

    The duo will end up their summer concerts with two more recitals in Europe:
  • August 24, Oslo, Norway
  • August 26, Edinburgh, Scotland
    This recital at the Edinburgh Festival will be broadcast on Tuesday 7 September 1.00pm by BBC Radio 3.
    The Edinburg program juxtaposes two well known violin sonatas (by Beethoven and Brahms) with two 20th century works. Bloch described his Second Violin Sonata, composed while he was in America, as portraying the world as it should be. Davidovsky is an Argentine-American composer whose Duo Capriccioso is a delightful dialogue between violin and piano.
    Ozgur, meanwhile, will travel to Japan for a tour with his wife Naoko Shimizu, principal violist of the Berliner Philharmoniker. Their programme will consist of sonatas by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, R. Clarke.

04/05/2010 OZGUR AYDIN'S CONCERTS IN APRIL AND MAY
Ozgur Aydin performed on 11 April at the Musikhochschule Leipzig works by German Composer Carl Reinecke (1824-1910) with the members of the Vogler Quartet, Tatjana Masurenko (viola) and Andreas Lehnert (clarinet) for the 100th anniversary of the composer's death. The program included 3 Fantasiestücke op.43, Violin Sonata in E minor op.116, Trio for clarinet, viola and piano op.264.

On 16 April, Aydin played Chopin's F minor Piano Concerto No.2 in Magdeburg (Germany) with the Mitteldeutsche Kammerphilharmonie under the conductor Jörg-Peter Weigle and received excellent reviews.

Aydin will give a Chopin Recital in Istanbul at the Notre Dame de Sion French High School on May 6. The program consists of 3 Nocturnes op.9, 4 Impromtus and 14 Valses.

After that he will be giving masterclasses at the Tenerife Conservatory of Music in Spain during May 14-17.


16/03/2010 OZGUR AYDIN'S CONCERTS IN MARCH
Ozgur Aydin starts his concerts this month with Chopin's 2. Piano Concerto. The concert takes place on 13 March in Braunschweig's Stadthalle with the Louis Spohr Orchestra.

A European recital tour with the renowed violinist Midori will follow, in a combination of works by Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Hindemith, Szymanovski and Saint-Saens in Wroclac and Bydgoszcz (Poland) and in Kempten and Dusseldorf (Robert Schumann Saal).


03/03/2010 AYDIN CELEBRATES THE CHOPIN YEAR
Ozgur Aydin played Chopin's Piano Concerto No.2 on February 28th in Bernburg (Germany) with The Mitteldeutsche Kammerphilharmonie. The program will be repeated on April 16 in Magdeburg.

Aydin will perform the same concerto on March 13 in Braunschweig with The Louis Spohr Orchester.


13/11/2009 OZGUR AYDIN ON TOUR IN JAPAN WITH VIOLINIST MIDORI
Pianist Ozgur Aydin goes on his second tour of this year in Japan with the renowned violinist Midori in November. The Duo will play in Hakodate City Art Hall, Matsumoto Harmony Hall and Shimokita Culture Hall, Mutsu. The program includes Grieg sonata No.1, Brahms sonata No.3 and short works by Dvorak, De Falla, Ravel and Szymanowski.

After this tour Ozgur Aydin will give a recital in Istanbul on November 24 at the Akbank Art Center. The program consists of Beethoven's Tempest Sonata and Chopin's all 4 Impromtus. On the next two days of the recital, the artist will be giving masterclasses at the same center.


08/08/2009 OZGUR AYDIN ON TOUR WITH VIOLINIST MIDORI
Pianist Ozgur Aydin is on tour with the renowed violinist Midori in August. The duo will give four resitals in Germany and one in Macedonia:

  • 7 August: Augusteerhalle, Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel/Germany
  • 8 August: Schlos Elmau, Munich/Germany
  • 9 August: Arp Museum, Bahnhof Rolandseck/Germany
  • 10 August: Schloss Bensberg/Germany
  • 11 August: Ohrid Summer Festival, Ohrid/Macedonia.
The program includes sonatas for violin and piano by Bach, Schumann, Hindemith and Saint-Saens.

10/04/2009 OZGUR AYDIN AT THE SALZBURG EASTER FESTIVAL
On April 12th, Ozgur Aydin performs Schumann's Piano Quintet and music by W. Rihm with four members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (Brandl, Gartemann, Shimizu, Weber) at the Salzburg Easter Festival.

Mid-April, Aydin will be serving as a jury member at the Kamuran Gundemir Piano Competition in Turkey. While in Turkey he is going to perform at the Sureyya Opera House on April 19 in Istanbul.


03/03/2009 OZGUR AYDIN PLAYS WITH VIOLINIST MIDORI IN JAPAN
Pianist Ozgur Aydin will give four concerts with violinist Midori at the beginning of March in Japan. The program includes sonatas by Beethoven, Debussy and Franck. Aydin and Midori will also perform together in Germany in August and in Japan in November.


06/11/2008 OZGUR AYDIN IN THREE CONTINENTS IN NOVEMBER
Özgür Aydin will be playing, teaching and recording in three continents during the month of November.

In the first week of the month (2-8 November 2008), the pianist will give a recital and make workshops in Caracas, Venezuela. He will then play Beethoven's Piano Concerto No.4 with the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela.

On his way to Asia from South America, Aydin will briefly return home to give a lunchtime concert with the Aurata Quintet in the foyer of the Berliner Philarmoniker. The quartet will be playing Schubert's Trout Quintet and Brahms's Piano Quartet Op.25 on November 11.

In the following weeks, Özgür Aydin will be playing the same pieces in two recitals in Japan, again with the Aurata Quintet. From November 16th to December 2nd, the pianist will also make solo recordings for The Japan Broadcasting Corporation NHK.


17/03/2008 OZGUR AYDIN OZGUR AYDIN PERFORMED WITH THE MITTELDEUTSCHE KAMMERPHILHARMONIE IN BERLIN
Özgür Aydin has played Beethoven's 2nd Piano Concerto on March 1th in Berlin/Potsdam with the Mitteldeutsche Kammerphilharmonie conducted by Christian Simonis. Aydin's performance was highly acclaimed by the critics and the orchestra invited him again for their next season.

The pianist will be in Ankara this week for a recital on March 19th at the Cankaya Cultural Center and two days of masterclasses at the Conservatory.


28/01/2008 OZGUR AYDIN ON JAPAN TOUR
Özgür Aydin will be on tour in Japan with Naoko Shimizu from February 1st to 12th, to give solo and duo concerts. The latest CD of the duo on the German label Genuin, has achieved record sales figures in Japan. The recording of their last Tokyo concert by the Japanese radio and television company NHK has been broadcasted over and over since. Aydin's performance of the Franck Sonata in this recording has received enthusiastic criticisms and NHK has invited Aydin to Japan to make more solo recordings.


19/01/2008 AYDIN'S SUCCESS AT THE PHILHARMONIE IN BERLIN
Ozgur Aydin has performed with Naoko Shimizu (Principal Violist of the Berliner Philharmoniker) in Braunschweig on January 6th and at the Philharmonie in Berlin on January 8th. The program included Schumann's Maerchenbilder op.113, Hindemith's Sonata op.25 No.4 and the Sonata in A major by Franck. This Concert at the Philharmonie in Berlin has received enthusiastic critical and public acclaim.


16/01/2008 AYDIN PLAYS MOZART'S LAST CONCERTO WITH THE SLOVAK SINFONIETTA
Ozgur Aydin is playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No.27 with the Slovak Sinfonietta conducted by Alexander Schwinck in three different cities. The first concert will take place on Jan. 17 in Zilina within the season program of the orchestra. The second concert is on Jan. 20 in Ludenscheid and the last concert is on Jan. 21 in Borken, during the Germany tour of the Slovak Sinfonietta.

Last November, Aydin had performed Beethoven's 4th and 5th Piano concertos in different cities of Germany with the Slovak State Philharmonic, again conducted by Alexander Schwinck. These successful concerts have received great critical and public acclaim.


28/11/2007 ÖZGÜR AYDIN PERFORMS SCHUBERT'S TROUT QUINTET AND BRAHMS' 1. PIANO QUARTET
Ozgur Aydin will be performing Schubert's Trout Quintet and Brahms' 1. Piano Quartet with K. Okazaki, N. Shimizu, J. Zhao and N. Shehata. Like Aydin, all other players are also first prize winners of the ARD Music Competition and they are members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. The Concerts are in Istanbul on November 28th, in Munich on December 1st, and in Riga on December 4th.


05/11/2007 ÖZGÜR AYDIN PERFORMS BEETHOVEN's PIANO CONCERTOS WITH THE SLOVAK PHILHARMONIC
Ozgur Aydin will be performing Beethoven's 4th and 5th Piano Concertos with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Alexander Schwinck. The concerts are on November 5th in Emden and on November 6th in Wilhelmshaven in Germany.


03/10/2007 BIELEFELD and ANTALYA SEASON OPENING CONCERTS by ÖZGÜR AYDIN
Ozgur Aydin will be performing Mozart's 23th Piano Concerto in Antalya with the State Symphony Orchestra on October 5th. This performance will be the "Opening Concert" of the season.

Aydin has given another opening Concert at the International Master Concerts in Bielefeld on September 23th. This successful recital included works by Beethoven and Chopin and was higly acclaimed by the critics.


17/01/2007 ÖZGÜR AYDIN PERFORMS IN JAPAN
Ozgur Aydin will be performing in the last two weeks of January in various halls in Japan including the Oji Hall and the Philia Hall in Tokyo.


30/11/2006 ÖZGÜR AYDIN PLAYS IN ATHENS
Ozgur Aydin will be performing in Athens Megaron Concert Hall on December 1 and 2. The programs include Brahms: Sonata for piano and viola op.120 no.1, Piano Trio op.101, Piano Quartet op.25, Schubert: Trout Quintet D 667, Schumann: Maerchenbilder op.113. All other players are also prize winners of the ARD Music Competition and they are members of the Berlin Philharmonic.


06/10/2006 ÖZGÜR AYDIN PERFORMS RACHMANINOV's 2. PIANO CONCERTO
Ozgur Aydin will be performing Rachmaninov's second piano concerto in Izmir with the DESO Orchestra on October 7th. The performance, which will be the "Opening Concert" of the season will be conducted by Tadeusz Strugala.

Aydin will also perform this work on October 20th and 21th in Istanbul with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra. Howard Griffiths will be conducting the orchestra.


10/06/2006 ÖZGÜR AYDIN PLAYS AT THE CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL OF THE ARD
Ozgur Aydin will be performing 9 concerts at the Chamber Music Festival of the ARD. 6 of the concerts will be in Munich and 3 concerts will be in Berlin, from 14 to 22 June 2006. Like Aydin, all other players of the festival are also prize winners of the ARD Music Competition and they are members of the Berlin Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras. Ozgur Aydin's program includes Schubert: Trout Quintet, Schumann: Adagio and Allegro op.70, Fantasy Pieces op.73, Romances op.94, Maerchenbilder op.113.

Ozgur Aydin will be playing the complete waltzes of Chopin at the Tubingen Piano Festival on May 2.


16/03/2006 ÖZGÜR AYDIN PERFORMS ALL FIVE PIANO CONCERTOS OF BEETHOVEN
Ozgur Aydin will be performing all five of Beethoven's piano concertos this week. The concerts will take place in Braunschweig and Wolfenbüttel, Germany on March 17-18 and 24-25. In-Kun Park will be conducting the Louis Spohr Kammerorchester Braunschweig.

Ozgur Aydin will be performing Brahms's first piano concerto in Ankara with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra this weekend, Saturday evening. The performance will be recorded for publication.

After the performances of the complete Book II of The Well-Tempered Clavier by J.S. Bach in Germany and in Izmir, which received enthusiastic critical and public acclaim, Ozgur Aydin will perform the huge work on June 28 at the Istanbul Music Festival (The Imperial Mint, 18:30).

Ozgur Aydin will be performing the complete Book II of The Well-Tempered Clavier (24 Preludes and Fugues) by J.S. Bach on April 23 in Braunschweig (Germany) and on May 5 in Izmir (Turkey).


29/03/2005 OZGUR AYDIN PLAYS BEETHOVEN'S TRIPLE CONCERTO
Ozgur Aydin will be performing Beethoven's Triple Concerto in Istanbul with the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra on April 1 and 2. The other soloists of the concerto are Cihat Askin (violin) and Solen Dikener (cello).


17/02/2005 OZGUR AYDIN SUBSTITUTED for BIRET to PLAY LISZT's 1.PIANO CONCERTO
Just following his Chopin Recital in Istanbul Aksanat Center on 9 February, Ozgur Aydin played Liszt`s 1. Piano Concerto in Adana on 11 February, as a substitute for Idil Biret, who could not come to her scheduled concert.

TRT will broadcast this performance on TRT 2 TV, in March.

Furthermore, Ozgur Aydin will perform Brahms' 2nd Piano Concerto in Adana with Çukurova Symphony Orchestra on 18 February and in Ankara with Presidential Symphony Orchestra on 24/25 February.


26/01/2005 BRAHMS 2nd PIANO CONCERTO and a CHOPIN RECITAL
Ozgur Aydin will be performing Brahms's second piano concerto four times with two different orchestras in the next two weeks in Turkey.
On January 27 and 28, the pianist will be playing in Bursa, with the Bursa Symphony Orchestra,
On February 4 and 5, he will be playing in Izmir, with the Izmir Symphony Orchestra.

Aydin will then move to Istanbul to give a Chopin Recital on February 9th at the Akbank Art Center. The program includes 14 Waltzes and the 2nd Sonata of Frederick Chopin.


21/01/2005 NEW CD by OZGUR AYDIN RELEASED
Özgür Aydin has recorded a new CD with Naoko Shimizu, the principal violist of the Berliner Philharmoniker. This CD, published by the German label Genuin, includes works for Viola and Piano by Robert Schumann, Benjamin Britten, Kenji Bunch.

26/11/2004 THREE RECITALS and THREE MASTER CLASSES IN TURKEY
Özgür Aydin will be giving three recitals at three different cities of Turkey this week. The recitals will be at the Ankara University (ATAUM Hall) on 26 November 2004 (Friday), at Inönü University (Malatya) on 29 November 2004 (Monday) and at Bursa Philharmony Association (Tayyare Cultural Center) on 1 December 2004 (Wednesday).
The recital program is:
Bach: Arrangements from Chorals
Beethoven: The Moonlight Sonata
Chopin: Sonata No.2 "Funeral Sonata", Impromptus and Valses

Before returning to Berlin, the pianist will also give piano master classes at the State Conservatory in Bursa on December 2nd, and at the Anatolian University State Conservatory in Eskisehir on December 3rd and 4th.
